Dear Congressman Mike Simpson

First I would like to thank you again for your assistance in obtaining the documentation I needed to help me obtain my Military benefits and my Purple Heart plus various other citations. The VA tells me my records are being corrected but it will be a year or longer before I receive my corrected records. The Purple Heart and the paper work for the other citations.

I have been working since 1997 trying to receive help from the Army in correcting my records now they tell me they will be corrected but I will have to wait another year or so before I will receive the corrected records and the citations that I have coming. I need medical help for various wounds I received in Viet Nam. The Army told me in the beginning that I didn't have any medical benefits coming because I was not a combat Veteran so I have been working all this time trying to get my records corrected so the Army would know I was a combat Veteran so I could receive my medical benefits. I need help now I am disabled and on Social Security and I cannot afford to pay for my medical needs. Is there any way your office could assist me in obtaining my corrected records and citations in a more timely manner. This will allow me to submit the corrected records to the BVA for reevaluation. I am also told that the Army will issue the Purple Heart to me but I have to buy the others my self if I won’t them. These citations were never presented to me, why do I have to buy these citations.

Sincerely,

Hugh C. Rowland
